Please dont read all this step if you already know how to copy and paste your picture into a 100x100 canvas!
Okay first off we go to File >> New then make sure its 100 x 100 pixels and make sure its RGB Color then make sure you have a picture opened on Photoshop if
not go to File >> Open and select your picture then press Open Once you have you will have your picture up on Photoshop. Now press CTRL + A on your keyboard and it should have selected it all then press CTRL + C on your keyboard and then go to the file we made with the 100 x 100 canvas size then press CTRL + V and your picture should have shown up, If its too big or you want to just move it around find this little tool on your Photoshop tool bar Then drag the picture around.. if its too big go to Edit >> Free Transform then you should have the little boxes on each corner of your picture drag those boxes down but also keeping your hand on shift it should resize down equally. One your happy with it you should have your picture in the 100 x 100 canvas! Like this!

Okay that was just the simple part now we are going to add Textures! Fun part! As for this tutorial we are going to use textures and they will be credited. Now grab this texture from http://www.kyuusho.net:

And Paste it onto your avatar and set to Hard Light now grab this texture:

Set to Color Burn, You see these textures worked with my image on those modes, Test and see which works better for you just go through them all and see which you like best if your using the same image as me I suggest you do the same as me if not you can still play around.

This is what I got so far, now lastly one last texture grab the texture below and set it to Soft Light

You should have something like this:

Now for effects! Create a new layer by going to Layer >> New >> Layer Press OK then go to the Pencil tool and just draw hearts and stars and stuff and dont forget to change the size of the pencil to what you want! Make sure its on the colour black! Then set it to Overlay Or if you want it lighter set to Soft Light So this is what I got:

Oh perfect time to add a border! On the SAME layer press CTRL + A then make sure you are on the Marquee Tool then right click the picture and go to Stroke Make sure its black and make sure its 1 or 2px width mine is 2px and make sure its on Inside then press OK then you should have something like this:

Well thats what I got but if you add text and effects you can make nicer things for example I added some extra things and look what I got!:

Cool huh? Just play around and you could get lovely results!
